Roy Sommer is Professor of English and the director of the Center for Graduate Studies at the University of Wuppertal. He is the co-founder, with Michael Scheffel and Matías Martínez, of the interdisciplinary Center for Narrative Research at Wuppertal, and has been a member of the Executive Board since 2007. He has been a member of the European Narratology Network since 2009, and of the Narrative Society since 2011. He is the co-editor of DIEGESIS, a bilingual open access journal dedicated to cross-disciplinary narrative research. Roy Sommer is the author of two monographs, a narratological study of multicultural British fiction (Fictions of Migration, 2001) and a history of British comedy (Von Shakespeare bis Monty Python, 2011). He has co-edited four books, including Narratology in the Age of Interdisciplinary Narrative Research (2009), with Sandra Heinen. He has published more than forty book chapters and journal articles that reflect his interest in fictional and factual storytelling and narrative theory.
